Museum catalogue sources, editorial image records, individual rights and credits for Artologium’s collection and essays.
Each active catalogue image has a source record and an affirmative museum CC0/public-domain designation. The eight opening images were checked on 16 October 2026; imported works retain their own check date, source snapshot hash and rule version. Catalogue tags are normalized from museum fields by documented automated rules. Observations and authored readings are separate. The opening files are resized WebP derivatives; imported display images come from their institutions, with verified local delivery copies where needed. Full images and reuse policies are available from each source control.
Read The Met’s Open Access policy ↗Our open-access catalogue admits images only when the source supplies an explicit designation covered by a reviewed institutional policy. Image permissions and basic catalogue data are checked separately; museum essays and 3D files are excluded from this import. A record’s evidence includes its retrieval date, policy review, selected image and file hash.
Unclear or conflicting permissions stay out of the catalogue. Credits and source links stay with images and resized versions. A withdrawal blocks future imports and removes the work from generated pages, search and social assets on the next rebuilt release. These checks document the source’s designation; they do not clear every possible privacy, publicity, trademark or cultural restriction.
An image review needs the artwork URL, source record and the specific rights concern. Read more about our image and sourcing approach.

The editorial images below have separate source records from the browsable museum catalogue. Research sources support a claim; an image license governs a particular reproduction. One does not automatically supply the other.
